A TOTALSPAN SHED: THE HUB OF THE FARM
Every farm needs a few essentials, and a good shed is one of them. On Keith’s Waikato property, it was something that quickly moved to the top of the priority list.
What followed was more than just a shed. The finished Totalspan building has become a central part of daily life on the farm: a space designed not only to store and protect farm machinery and feed, but that is used every day.
Hear what Keith has to say
“The shed’s a little bit different,” Keith says. “It’s big, airy. I love the concrete floor. We put electric doors in. We put good lighting in. It’s a real pleasure to come in here with the lights on.”
Those details have made a noticeable difference to how the building functions. Whether it’s early starts or late finishes, the shed is a place that supports the rhythm of farm work. “It’s become very much the hub of the farm. The outcome is out of this world.” Keith says.
“I love this farm, but it didn’t have all the infrastructure. One of the things I needed, a bloke needs, is a decent shed.”

Design also played a key role in Keith’s decision. From the outside, the building is striking with its colour scheme, something Keith appreciates every time he’s in the shed. “It’s got that wow factor,” he says.
Why Keith's shed has become the hub of the farm
-
-
Striking design: A color scheme with the "wow factor" that complements the property, while seamlessly blending in with the natural rural surroundings.
-
A solid foundation: Big, airy spaces and concrete floors that stand up to long-term use.
-
Practical upgrades: Electric doors and high-quality lighting that make it a pleasure to walk into, day or night.
-
Beyond appearance and features, the experience of the build process with Totalspan stood out to Keith.
“I’d absolutely recommend Totalspan. They’re lovely to deal with. For me, relationships are really important”
“If you’ve got pleasant facilities, it actually motivates you to go and do the extra hours’ work.” Keith says.
On a working farm, that matters. Because at the end of the day, a shed isn’t just a structure, it’s where the work gets done.
