TOTALSPAN ANNOUNCES NEW SHELTERS FOR KIWI SCHOOL KIDS

We’re delighted to announce that another 71 school bus shelters will be erected over the coming months through the Totalspan Undercover Kids Bus Shelter Programme.

The Totalspan Undercover Kids Bus Shelter Programme is managed by a charitable trust we established in 2008 to help protect children waiting for buses on rural school routes. Undercover Kids is a nationwide, long-term initiative, which has already seen 120 bus shelters allocated to schools and communities across the country.

In the first round of applications this year, we received more than 100 applications. Although we had planned to allocate 50 bus shelters in this round, the high quality of the applications – and the significant need they identified – meant we have decided to provide an additional 21 bus shelters, bringing the first round of 2009 applications to 71 bus shelters.

New Zealand’s leading supplier of steel sheds and buildings has launched a major programme to protect our children as they wait for buses on rural school routes. The Undercover Kids Programme is a nationwide initiative and Totalspan’s way of saying ‘thank you’ to the communities in which they do business. All rural schools are being urged to make the most of this opportunity and apply for shelters in their area. And what’s more, it won’t cost the community anything!
